The allocation of phone numbers is strictly regulated by the Federal Network Agency. All telephone providers in Germany are obliged to carefully check their customers' personal data and line addresses before assigning a local number.

This is the only way to ensure that your location is automatically transmitted to the emergency services in the event of an emergency call. It also makes it more difficult for fraudsters to obtain telephone numbers for abusive purposes.

In most cases, we can verify your address without you having to submit any further documents. For private customers, this is done via the NECT app and/or an address verification letter, for example. For business customers, we can check whether the company is known at the address and we will also send a verification letter. We have summarized all of this in our article on address verification.

However, it can happen that we do not receive clear results from these verification methods. In these cases, we will request additional documents from you.

1. submit proof

If we require additional information to verify your connection, please send us the appropriate document from the following list by e-mail or fax.

Commercial customers

  • Your company registration (excerpt from the company register or commercial register)

Residential customers

  • A current contract or a current invoice for a telecommunications connection from another operator (e.g. telephone or Internet connection)
  • Current rental contract
  • A current bill from the municipality
  • A current bill from an electricity, gas, water or other utility company
  • Identity card or other valid identification document

2. wait for activation

Once we have received the document, it is normally checked within one working day. You can then use the connection within a few minutes.
