How the address verification works
The methods of address verification differ depending on the product and whether you are ordering a connection for your home or a business.
Komplett-tariffs (internet- plus VoIP-connection)
If you take out a contract with an Internet connection, address verification is virtually included. The fact that a physical Internet connection must be established ensures that you actually live at the specified address and are therefore the authorized recipient of a number from the respective local network.
VoIP telephone connections for residential use
Privatpersonen, diePrivate individuals who order a VoIP-only connection have two options: Direct address verification with Nect or with a verification code by post.
Postal address verification
Either we send an activation code by post to the address you provide. You enter this code in your easybell customer portal after receiving it.
Authentication with Nect
It's quicker if you use the app from the external provider Nect. Nect already works with many German banks. If you opt for verification via Nect, you don't have to wait for the verification code sent by post, but can use the voice-over-IP connection just five minutes after ordering.
This is how address verification works with Nect:
1. Finish order
If you have completed your order by clicking on "Order with costs", you will receive a confirmation on the next page.
If the requirements for verification via Nect are met, you will be offered the option "Immediate activation". Please click on "To Nect activation".
If you prefer to verify your address by post instead, you can simply close the page.
2. QR Code scanning
Open the "Nect Wallet" app and scan the QR code to start the verification process.
If you have not yet installed the app, you can find it at Google Play or in the Apple App-Store.
3. Verification in the app
Within the app, you will now be asked to hold your ID document (ID card, passport, residence permit) with the front and back in front of the camera.
You will then be asked to film yourself. The app then displays 3 words which must be read out.

4. Finish verification
If the check by Nect was successful, Easybell will confirm this again: "Activation successful".
Your connection will now be provided automatically and you will be able to use the connection after five minutes at the latest. Of course, we will also inform you of this again by e-mail.
Possible problems with authentication via Nect
- I do not see the option for authentication via Next.
This option is only available for VoIP-only telephone connections and only for private customers (i.e. if you have not entered a company name). - Authentication via Nect was not successful.
If the verification with Nect is not successful, or you do not want it, the verification code will be sent by e-mail as before.
VoIP telephone connections for companies
As business names are not noted on ID documents, no connection for companies can be verified via Nect. Therefore, if you order a connection for your company, only postal address verification is available to you. In urgent cases, you can contact our customer service and we will try to find a solution together with you.
