Similar to the “Display extension name” feature, it may be useful to customize the transmitted phone number. Whether you transmit the original source number or the number of the forwarding extension depends on your specific scenario.

The latter is useful when it is less important who exactly is calling and more important what the original destination of the call is (e.g., a specific hotline). If, on the other hand, you transmit the source number, this has the advantage that calls can be accurately assigned and callbacks are possible.

Attention!

This setting applies only to external call forwarding configured in the Cloud PBX for a user or a resource.

1. Access the Cloud PBX

Open my.easybell and click on “Cloud PBX” in the menu bar.

Depending on the function, the Cloud PBX uses two different types of extensions:

  • User: person-specific extensions
  • Resources: non-person-specific extensions

Please click on the relevant entry in the sidebar.

2. Call an extension

In the “User” or “Resources” section, please select the extension you want to edit and click the pencil icon next to it.

3. Edit extension

Go to the User or Resource settings and open the "Call Handling" tab. Under "Caller ID on Forwarding," you can choose between two options:

  • Forward extension number: The phone number of this extension is transmitted to the forwarding destination.
  • Forward source number: The caller’s original phone number is forwarded to the forwarding destination.

To apply the settings, please click “Save” when you are finished.
