What do I need to use the easybell Teams Connector?
The Teams Connector from easybell is an interface between your Microsoft Teams account and your SIP Trunk. This enables you to make incoming and outgoing calls from a Teams client via the SIP Trunk, meaning you can integrate external telephony into your UCC solution. This brings with it many benefits. In order to set up and use the Teams Connector correctly, certain components must be in place.
Requirements for the use of the Teams Connector
1. SIP Trunk
To use the Teams Connector and integrate telephony into your UCC setup, you first need an active SIP trunk, for example with easybell's low-cost business rates.
2. Microsoft Teams licenses
Since Microsoft Teams is part of the Microsoft Office 365 Suite, you need the appropriate licenses for each user or each desired extension for the use of Microsoft Office 365. For some license variants, an add-on (additional product from Microsoft) is also required in order to be able to activate telephony in MS Teams at all. The following licenses and add-ons are suitable for linking to a SIP Trunk:
Basis | Version | additional Add-on |
---|---|---|
Microsoft 365 Business | Basic / Standard / Premium | Teams Phone |
Microsoft 365 | F1 / F3 | Teams Phone |
Office 365 | F3 | Teams Phone |
Microsoft 365 / Office 365 | E1 / E3 | Teams Phone |
Microsoft 365 / Office 365 | E5 | Teams Phone incl. |
3. admin account
For the initial setup, you also need a valid account for Microsoft Office 365 and Teams Phone that has admin rights to configure the other user accounts. This account can be deleted after successful setup and the license can be assigned to other users.
How can I book the Teams Connector?
As a new customer, you can easily add the Teams Connector when ordering your SIP trunk. Existing customers have the option of ordering the Teams Connector as an additional product in the easybell customer portal. The price is 5 €/month* for every 10 users, the first 30 days are free.
Good to know:
To be able to use the SIP Trunk regularly, i.e. outside of Microsoft Teams, you need a stationary or virtual telephone system (PBX). If you make calls exclusively via Microsoft Teams, Teams takes over this task.
With other solutions, you may still need a Session Border Controller ("SBC") to connect your telephony with Microsoft Teams. The easybell Teams Connector already has a suitable SBC, so you do not need any additional elements.
