Sometimes it can be useful not to display your own phone number when making calls. The other party then displays an anonymous call.

If you make calls with a suppressed number, it is still possible for authorities and providers to find out your identity.

Permanent number suppression

1. manage phone numbers

First open your customer portal and go to "Manage numbers" in the "Phone settings" area.

Then click on the small cogwheel behind "Calling line identification (CLIP)" for the phone number for which you want to make the change

2. suppress phone number

A window opens. Select "Call anonymous" and click on "Apply".

Note: The caller's number is not suppressed when calls are forwarded.

Case-by-case number suppression

For case-by-case number suppression, dial *31* before the number you want to reach. This code does not work with all end devices.

With FRITZ! boxes, you must dial *31# instead.
