We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and, where applicable, the German Telecommunications and Telemedia Data Protection Act (TTDSG).
2. Purpose and scope of data processing
For the correct functionality of the service, certain data must be processed that meet the definition of ‘personal data’ in accordance with Article 4.1 of the GDPR. This data is stored and processed solely for the purpose of enabling the functions of the service.
3. Legal basis of the processing
The processing of personal data takes place on the basis of:
Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR (fulfilment of a contract or pre-contractual measures)
Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest - e.g. in secure, stable app use)
Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR, insofar as you explicitly consent to optional functions (e.g. analysis cookies)
4. storage period
Personal data is only stored for as long as it is required to fulfil the respective purpose or as long as statutory retention periods exist. If you decide to stop using the service and uninstall the relevant applications, all personal data can be deleted on request. This does not apply to data collected on the basis of the customer relationship with easybell GmbH (these are subject to the data protection declaration for contractual relationships of easybell GmbH) and data that we must retain in order to fulfil a legal obligation that requires processing by Union law or the law of the Member States in accordance with Article 17.3 of the EU -GDPR.
5. Place of data processing
Processing takes place on servers within the European Union. A transfer to third countries only takes place if this is necessary for the provision of the service and suitable guarantees in accordance with Art. 44 et seq. GDPR exist.
6. Your rights as a data subject
The use of ConnectMe depends on the personal data to be processed and cannot function correctly without it. The personal data originates from the user's entries and from the customer data of easybell GmbH; the correction can be made at any time by processing the data within the app.
In particular, you have the following rights under the GDPR
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR)
- Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR)
To assert these rights, please contact our data protection officer.
7. Technical information & security
ConnectMe is a web application that communicates with the system components via HTTPS. Depending on the configuration, media streams are transmitted directly via encrypted connections (e.g. WSS, UDP). The security specifications of the communication system used (e.g. Dstny Core) apply.
8. cookies
ConnectMe only uses analytical cookies to improve the stability and consistency of the product. These cookies collect aggregated information about usage (e.g. page views, navigation) and are used exclusively for product optimisation. No personal identification takes place.
When logging in for the first time, users are given the opportunity to find out about the cookies used and to confirm the settings. These privacy settings are managed by the respective service provider.
9. Data collected
9.1 IP addresses
When using functions that require server components such as push notifications or other web services, the IP address and browser information may be logged by the servers. The logs are circulated automatically and the information they contain is only processed when certain problems are rectified or when required by law.
9.2 Usage data
The servers collect information about whether the app has been actively used within the current month for billing purposes. The data has a pseudonymised identifier that is reported by the app when it is used.
9.3 Push notifications
Notifications (e.g. about incoming calls) can be displayed via browser mechanisms. The activation of such notifications depends on the local system settings (e.g. Windows, macOS, browser) and requires your consent. No notifications will be sent without this consent.
This information is not shared with anyone and is deleted immediately when the push instance expires (usually within 3-6 days, depending on the configuration of the SIP account) or the user deactivates the push notifications in the application.
9.4 Crash reports and diagnostics
To ensure the stability and performance of our app, we send crash reports and diagnostics to report crashes. This helps us to identify and fix technical issues by collecting anonymised crash reports when the app encounters an error. No personally identifiable information (PII) is collected by default. The data collected includes:
- Device model and version of the operating system
- App version and build number
- Stack traces and logs in connection with crashes
- Time and frequency of crashes
- Other technical details that help diagnose problems
- Your IP address may be processed temporarily for routing purposes, but is not stored or logged.
This data is used solely for troubleshooting and to improve the stability of the application. They help us:
- diagnose and fix crashes
- improve the reliability and performance of our app
- understand how crashes affect different devices and operating system versions
- We do not use crash reports to track user behaviour or create profiles.
If you do not wish to participate in crash reports, you can disable analytics and diagnostics in your device settings.
10. restrictions - emergency calls
ConnectMe is not suitable for emergency calls. Due to technical and legal requirements, a reliable connection to emergency call services is not guaranteed. Please always use mobile or landline telephones for emergency calls. This information is provided in accordance with the European legal framework (Electronic Communications Code, Recital 284).
11. Changes to the privacy policy
This privacy policy is updated regularly. You will be informed of any significant changes within the application.
