We process personal data collected within the scope of this Privacy Policy in accordance with the applicable legal provisions on data protection and data security in the Federal Republic of Germany. For us, as a telecommunications company, this is the Telecommunications Act (TKG). For services not covered by the TKG, data protection is governed in particular by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as well as the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) enacted in connection therewith.

2. Purpose of Data Processing

To ensure the proper functioning of the service, certain data must be processed that falls under the definition of “personal data” as defined in Article 4.1 of the GDPR. This data is stored and processed exclusively for the purpose of enabling the service’s functions.

3. Location

Personal data is stored on servers in Germany.

4. Duration

Personal data is necessary for the proper operation of the service. It will continue to be processed for as long as the service is used. If you decide to stop using the service and uninstall the corresponding application, all personal data can be deleted upon request. Exceptions include data collected in connection with the customer relationship with easybell GmbH (which is subject to easybell GmbH’s general privacy policy), as well as data that we are required to retain to fulfill a legal obligation that requires processing under Union law or the law of the Member States, in accordance with Article 17(3) of the EU GDPR.

5. Your Rights: Access, Rectification, Erasure

You have the right to access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), and restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR).

Rectification. If the data processed through the app is inaccurate or incomplete, please contact us using the contact information provided above. We will correct the data without delay.

Deletion. To have the data collected through the app deleted, uninstall the applications and notify us of your request for deletion using the contact information provided above. Please note that the use of the Easybell app depends on the processing of this data and that the app cannot be operated without it. For data arising from the customer relationship, Section 4 applies.

The data processed is derived from your entries in the app and from the customer data maintained by easybell GmbH.

6. Collected Data

6.1 IP Addresses

When using features that require server components such as push notifications or other web services, the IP address and browser information may be logged by the servers. The logs are automatically rotated, and the information they contain is processed only when resolving specific issues or when required by law.

We use the operating system-level DNS resolver on macOS and iOS. On other platforms, we attempt to use the DNS servers provided by the operating system. If this fails for any reason, we may connect to root name servers as a fallback.

6.2 Usage Data

The servers collect information on whether the app has been actively used within the current month for billing purposes. This data is collected using a pseudonymized identifier reported by the app when it is used.

6.3 Push Notifications

For push notifications to work, we must remotely register your account when the Easybell app is running in the background or is closed on your iOS or Android device. To do this, we transmit your SIP account data to SIPIS (our server that processes push notifications) via a secure HTTPS connection. This information is not shared with anyone and is deleted when the push session expires (typically within 3–6 days, depending on the SIP account configuration) or when the user disables push notifications in the app.

If the SIP account is configured to use one of our multitasking methods instead of push notifications, this information is not sent to SIPIS.

6.4 Crash Reports and Diagnostics

To ensure the stability and performance of our app, we use Firebase Crashlytics, a crash reporting service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This service helps us identify and resolve technical issues by collecting pseudonymized crash reports when the app encounters an error. By default, Firebase Crashlytics does not collect any data that allows for your direct identification.

The data collected includes:

  • Device model and operating system version
  • App version and build number
  • Stack traces and logs related to crashes
  • Time and frequency of crashes
  • Application installation ID (Firebase Installation UUID)
  • Other technical details that help diagnose issues

Your IP address may be temporarily processed for routing purposes, but it is not stored or logged by Crashlytics.

This data is used exclusively for troubleshooting and improving the stability of the app. It helps us:

  • diagnose and fix crashes
  • improve the reliability and performance of our app
  • Understand how crashes affect different devices and operating system versions

We do not use Crashlytics to track user behavior or create profiles. Crash reports are processed on Google’s servers; in the process, data may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States. For this transfer, we rely on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Crash reports are deleted after 90 days.

For more details on Google’s processing of crash data, please refer to Google’s Privacy Policy and Firebase’s Privacy and Security Guidelines.

7. Data Portability

You have the right to request a copy of your personal data.

8. Complaints

You have the right to contact the competent supervisory authority:
Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom
of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.

In addition, you may contact the authority in your place of residence.

9. Changes to this privacy policy

This privacy policy may be amended if legal, technical or organisational changes make this necessary. The current version on our website shall apply at all times.
