This guide for setting up easybell Business SIP Trunks in Panasonic IP phone systems of the KX-NS series also includes the settings required for inbound DDI routing and outbound CLI presentation.
Please note that the configuration screens of newer versions may differ from those shown here.
In order to use all functions as described here, you require an easybell Business VOICE connection. Please make sure, you’ve read our information about the format of phone numbers for incoming calls.
1. SIP Trunk Provisioning
1.1 Port Properties
If several SIP trunks of different providers are used, it is recommended to use a separate gateway for easybell. In the Panasonic web interface, go to "1.1 Slot" under "PBX configuration" and open the port properties for the virtual gateway card V-SIPGW16 as shown in the following screenshot.
1.1.1 Main Properties
First, a basic channel needs to be defined in the main properties for the virtual SIP gateway. The 3 parameters highlighted in the following screenshots need to be specified. The SIP server port can remain at 5060.
1.1.2 Account Properties
In the account properties, the personal access data for the basic channel, which you have received from easybell or that are stored in the easybell customer portal, need to be entered. Username and Authentication ID are the same for easybell.
1.1.3 Register Properties
The registration details for the trunk are as follows.
Click on "OK" to save your configuration.
2. Outgoing Caller ID Presentation (CLIP)
In order to have the desired caller ID (CLIP) displayed to the called party, the header parameters under "Calling Party" should be adjusted as shown below.
Also, log into your easybell customer portal and enter the "Manage numbers" section of your phone settings. Expand the information about the SIP trunk you'd like to use with your Panasonic phone system and open the "Calling line identification" settings by clicking on the respective gear symbol.
"Choose manually" the P-Preferred-Identity SIP header as shown below. Alternatively, when choosing "standard settings" for Panasonic, P-Preferred-Identity is selected as well.
2.1 Supplementary Service
As CNAP / CNIP is not supported by easybell, the feature should be disabled in the Supplementary Services tab of the Port Properties. It is also recommended to evaluate the received CLIP from the From header.
Click on "OK" to save your configuration.
3. Calling Line Identification Presentation (CLIP)
In the Panasonic web interface, go to the "Extension" settings under 4.1.1 and open the "CLIP" tab. Enter the desired "CLIP ID" for each extension in the required format. Take into account the input entered as part of section 2.1 "Calling Party" regarding the phone number format.
3.1 Calling Line Identification Restriction (CLIR)
For anonymous calls, go to the "CLIP" tab from the previous section and activate the CLIR function.
Click on "OK" to save your configuration.
4. DDI/DID Routing Table
In the Panasonic web interface, go to "Office & Call Distribution" and "10.3 DDI / DID Distribution (DDI)" to assign extensions to phone numbers. The specification of a DDI / DID name is optional and only for your reference.
5. NAT Settings and Port Forwarding
To avoid problems behind NAT devices, the Keep-Alive function should be activated. In the Panasonic web interface, go to the "1.1 Slot" settings under "PBX configuration". Move the mouse pointer over the gateway card V-SIPGW16 and temporarily change the status of the card to "OUS" (out of service).
Then, open the "shelf properties" as shown in the following figure as indicated below.
If the Keep Alive message from easybell (e.g. OPTIONS / BLANK UDP packets) is not used to maintain port forwarding for an external router, enable BLANK UDP for the Keep Alive message as shown in the following figure. "NAT - Keep Alive Packet Sending Interval" should be shorter than the port forwarding expiration time of the router.
Click on "OK" to save your configuration.
If you do not proceed with the next paragraph, go back to the "1.1 Slot" menu. Move the mouse pointer over the gateway card "V-SIPGW16" and reset the status of the card to "INS" (in-service).
To protect the PBX from cyber attacks, restrict the above port forwarding to be only accessible from the IP addresses of the easybell source.
6. Deactivating 100rel / PRACK
Although easybell supports the 100rel / PRACK function, it does not exactly match RFC3262. Therefore, problems with additional functions such as call diversion 302 may occur.
To deactivate the 100rel / PRACK function, go to the "1.1 Slot" settings in the Panasonic web interface under "PBX configuration". Move the mouse pointer over the gateway card V-SIPGW16 and temporarily change the status of the card to "OUS" (out of service).
Then, open the "shelf properties" in "1.1 Slots" and deactivate the 100rel / PRACK function in the "main menu".
Click on "OK" to confirm your configuration. Then, go back to the menu "1.1 Slot". Move the mouse pointer over the gateway card V-SIPGW16 and reset the status of the card to "INS" (in-service).

Einstellungen im easybell Kundenportal:
Öffnen Sie bitte in der Rufnummernverwaltung den gewünschten Rufnummernblock und gehen in den Punkt „Rufnummernanzeige (CLIP)“. In dem Menü muss nun die Option „Geräteabhängige Rufnummernanzeige (CLIP)“ aktiviert werden.
Wählen Sie unter „Rufnummernübertragung in Feld“ den „P-Preferred-Identity“ SIP-Header aus. Alternativ können Sie unter "Standardeinstellung für" Panasonic auswählen.

Da CNAP/CNIP nicht durch easybell unterstützt wird, sollte die Funktion unter "Zusatzdienste" deaktiviert werden. Zudem wird empfohlen, das empfangene CLIP aus dem From-Header auszuwerten.
Klicken Sie auf "OK" um Ihre Eingaben zu bestätigen.
3. Rufnummernübertragung
Gehen Sie in der Panasonic Weboberfläche zu den "Nebenstelle" Einstellungen unter 4.1.1 und öffnen Sie den Reiter "CLIP". Tragen Sie je Nebenstelle die gewünschte "CLIP ID" im notwendigen Format ein. Berücksichtigen Sie die unter 2.1 unter "Calling Party" getroffenen Eingaben zum Rufnummernformat.
3.1 Rufnummernunterdrückung (CLIR)
Für Rufnummernunterdrückung ist im Reiter "CLIP" aus dem vorherigen Abschnitt die CLIR-Funktion zu aktivieren.
Klicken Sie auf "OK" um Ihre Eingaben zu bestätigen.
4. DDI/DID Durchwahlplan
Gehen Sie in der Panasonic Weboberfläche unter "Amt & Anrufverteilung" zu 10.3 "DDI/DID Verteilung (Durchwahlplan)" um Rufnummern Durchwahlen zuzuweisen. Die Angabe eines DDI/DID Namens ist optional.
5. NAT-Einstellungen
Um Probleme hinter NAT-Geräten zu vermeiden, sollte Keep-Alive aktiviert werden. Gehen sie hierfür in der Panasonic Weboberfläche in die Einstellungen "1.1 Slots" unter "TK-Anlagenkonfiguration". Bewegen Sie den Mauszeiger über die Gateway-Karte V-SIPGW16 und änderen Sie den Status der Karte vorübergehend auf "OUS" (out of service).
Öffnen Sie anschließend die "Shelf-Eigenschaften" wie in der folgenden Abbildung gezeigt.
Sofern die Keep-Alive Nachricht von easybell (z. B. OPTIONS / BLANK-UDP-Pakete) nicht dazu dient, die Portweiterleitung für einen externen Router beizubehalten, aktivieren Sie BLANK UDP als Keep Alive-Nachricht wie in der folgenden Abbildung dargestellt. "NAT - Keep Alive Packet Sending Interval" sollte kürzer sein als die Ablaufzeit der Port-Weiterleitung des Routers.
Klicken Sie auf "OK" um ihre Einstellungen zu übernehmen.
Falls Sie nicht mit dem nächsten Absatz fortfahren sollten, gehen Sie wieder in "1.1 Slots". Bewegen Sie den Mauszeiger über die Gateway-Karte "V-SIPGW16" und setzen Sie den Status der Karte zurück auf "INS" (in-service).
Um die TK-Anlage vor illegalen Angriffen zu schützen, beschränken Sie die oben genannten Portweiterleitungen so, dass sie nur von den IP-Adressen der easybell-Quelle aus zugänglich sind.
6. 100rel / PRACK Deaktivierung
Zwar unterstützt easybell die 100rel / PRACK-Funktion, doch entspricht es nicht exakt RFC3262. Daher können Probleme mit Zusatzfunktionen wie Rufumleitung 302 auftreten.
Um die 100rel / PRACK-Funktion zu deaktivieren, gehen Sie in der Panasonic Weboberfläche in die Einstellungen "1.1 Slots" unter "TK-Anlagenkonfiguration". Bewegen Sie den Mauszeiger über die Gateway-Karte V-SIPGW16 und änderen Sie den Status der Karte vorübergehend auf "OUS" (out of service).
Öffnen Sie anschließend die "Shelf-Eigenschaften" in "1.1 Slots" und deaktivieren sie im dortigen "Hauptmenü" die 100rel / PRACK-Funktion.
Klicken Sie auf "OK" um Ihre Eingabe zu bestätigen. Gehen Sie anschließend wieder in das Menü "1.1 Slots". Bewegen Sie den Mauszeiger über die Gateway-Karte "V-SIPGW16" und setzen Sie den Status der Karte zurück auf "INS" (in-service).
