The firmware of FRITZ!Boxes has been reworked several times in the last few years. With changes also being made to the interface we have also updated our guides with each new firmware version. In general, it is important to have the latest update of your firmware. You can find guidance on AVM (external link).

How do I check which firmware version I have?

  1. Turn on the FRITZ!Box.
  2. Connect your computer with your router via LAN or WLAN.
  3. Open your browser.
  4. Enter “fritz.box” in the address bar of your browser. If you have any trouble please have a look at this guide.
  5. Here you may have to enter your router password.
  6. This will bring you to the dashboard where the firmware version will be displayed in the upper right.
