ADSL2+ is a further development of ADSL where the rate of data and the range has been upgraded. ADSL2+ by easybell is able to have a maximum rate of date of 16 Mbps do receive direction and 1 Mbps in the send direction.

Codec is a fixed procedure for data enconding and decoding. A well-known codec is MP3 (MPEG-1 Layer III), for example. Even in digital telephony codecs are used. easybell supports the codec G.711, which is also used in ISDN.

DECT stands for Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications. DECT is a standard for wireless phones.

DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line and named a range of transmission standards, transferring data with high ranges of transmission via a normal copper telephone line.

ADSLAM is at the place where telephone lines come together. The DSLAM is interface of your telephone loe to a bigger data line. The DSLAM connects the DSL traffic and leads it via a so-called concentrator to a local  Broadband Remote Access Server , which is responsible for the  IP routing and the  PPPoE termination.

Linecards are the essential part of DSLAMS. On linecards the ports for telephone lines are combined. A linecard has got a receiver/sending-mechanism.

NTBA stands fo „Network Termination of Basic Access". The NTBA manages the connection between the public telephone network and the private S0-/ISDN-bus. That's how lots of ISDN compatible terminals can be operated at only one ISDN compatible basis Rate Interface. A NTBA isn't neccessary for easybell Komplett connections and also not compatible.

At easybell ADSL2+ connections, the rate of data between your router and the DSLAM is negotiated during the connection construction. Your performance conditions are adjusted. So you automatically get the best speed we can offer at easybell.

A router is a decvice which controls the network traffic for more than one networked computer. Often, the devices has got DSL modem as well.
With a Wifi router wireless networks can be built, which are able to communicate up among themselves and with the internet.

The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is a networtk protocol for building, controlling and reduction of a communication connection between two or more participants. It's been used in VoIP telephony and is the base of the easybell telephony service.

SIP trunking

A SIP trunk can bee seen as a virtual physical channel or a virtual telephone line, which connects a telephone system with the SIP provider. Signaling and voice streams are transferred via the internet. A SIP trunk can transfer lots of calls at the same time. A SIP trunk can be used instead of a conventional ISDN line or as a complement to existing ISDN connection.

The Splitter severally leads different frequency bands for a telephone connection (<120 KHz ) and ADSL connection (>138 KHz ) to the telephon connection and to the DSL modem. It's not necessary for easybell Komplett connections.

"Stun" stands for „Session Traversal Utilities for NAT". It's a simple network protocol, which knows firewalls and NAT router. That's how the important information for calliing can be transfered through firewalls and router.
The easybell platform is advanced that far, that there is no STUN needed anymore.

User Provided Number (UPN) means, that in outbounded calls the called one is shown another number. ("User Provided Number") than the number given by the telephone provider. ("Provided Number"). This function is part of easybell's configurable „Caller ID"
For investigative authorities, it is possible to display your „Provided Number"  for tracing the call.

VDSL is a DSL technology, which gives higher data transfer rates via common telephone lines than ADSL or ADSL2+, for example. easybell gives the standart VDSL2 with a maximum rate of date of 50 Mbps in reveive direction and 10 Mbps in send direction. In really good constellations the data rate of 50 Mbps can be exceeded.

VoIP stands for „Voice over Internet Protocol". In the German speaking countries, VoIP is often named as IP-Telefonie.
With VoIP, the voice communication is built up via the internet. Nowadays, VoIP is the common telephone technology and has numerous comfort features, which are not possible with classic telephony.
